LG Electronics is steering its focus toward innovative sectors by concentrating on robotic actuators and business-to-business (B2B) appliances as key drivers for future growth. The company is preparing to cater to substantial orders from some of the world’s leading technology firms. The actuators developed by LG are designed to be lighter, more efficient, and cost-effective, with plans for mass production already in motion. As part of this strategy, LG is engaged in advanced discussions with several major tech companies and anticipates announcing a significant initial order soon.
Earlier this year, LG unveiled its LG Axium actuator brand, leveraging its expertise in motors, drive controls, and component design honed through years of experience in the home appliance sector. The company is on track to establish a fully automated production line for actuators at its Changwon facility, expected to be operational by year-end. The rising demand for actuators is poised to coincide with the growth of physical artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics, particularly from 2030 onwards. LG envisions deploying humanoid robots at its Tennessee and Changwon smart manufacturing facilities before eventually integrating them into household applications as advancements in safety technology are realized.
In addition to its focus on robotics, LG is expanding its B2B appliance operations. Over the past three years, both its built-in appliance and commercial laundry divisions have achieved annual revenue growth exceeding 40%. In Europe, LG is enhancing its specialized sales team and expanding its premium built-in brands, with plans to increase the number of product displays to 3,000 outlets by the end of the year.
Furthermore, LG is bolstering its commercial laundry segment by introducing larger-capacity machines and strengthening partnerships across Southeast Asia. The company’s efforts in Europe also include promoting high-efficiency appliances, aligning with its objective to become a leading home appliance provider in the region by 2030. By diversifying its product offerings and strategically expanding its market presence, LG Electronics aims to solidify its position as a frontrunner in these burgeoning industries.
